Re: Career Opportunities in Alberta for Early Childhood Program Graduates

I am the Executive Director of Heartland Agency and Education Services.
The Heartland organization has been in successful operation, for approximately twelve years, as a premier community-based, child care service provider, servicing Calgary and its surrounding region.

Given the unparalleled development and growth in our city, we offer certified Early Childhood Program graduates of your school, the opportunity to join our dynamic team and benefit from extensive on-the-job training and practical experience in ECS child care.

We address the needs of families across our city for the provision of preschool services to children ages three to four, early childhood services to kindergarten children age five, and before-and-after school care (BAS) to children ages six through twelve. Heartland Agency is a well-established, highly respected, community-accessible service provider of choice, for Calgary parents.

In this hiring round, we are currently recruiting for three Early Childhood practitioner positions!
Successful candidates are being offered:

  • a moving allowance of up to $500
  • subsidized staff accommodations in a residential house setting
  • subsidized membership in the local community recreation centre
  • re-signing bonuses after employment years one and two, and
  • a competitive, industry-standard salary, based upon experience/credentials, over a two-year work term, in which hands-on, practitioner involvement in early childhood service delivery, is guaranteed.

We are an Alberta accredited, not-for-profit organization, that has several educational sites including the proposed construction of a state-of-the-art educational facility near our staff residence.

The quality of Heartland’s programs have been recognized through a number of awards, grants and funding initiatives from:

  • The United Way
  • McKesson Canada
  • The Safe Haven Foundation
  • The Wish Upon a Star Foundation
  • The Calgary Foundation
  • The Calgary Herald Newspaper

We are inviting ECE Program Graduates in Canada to join us in this pilot partnership. Recent or past graduates of an ECE diploma/certificate program, can learn more particulars regarding this offer by visiting our website (http://www.heartlandagency.org/ecs).

Interested applicants can apply online or download and complete the enclosed application package.

Qualified individuals, who seek exciting career opportunities, will find advancement, personal growth, travel, adventure, friendships within a new peer network of ECE professionals, and improved career marketability under a minimum two-year work agreement program with Heartland Agency.

The Alberta Advantage can offer ECE students a unique career challenge and opportunity for life skills enhancement with exemplary work and lifestyle benefits.

Please feel free to contact me, or our project lead, at any time to discuss the details of this collaboration with a private organization, in efforts to provide quality education and skills training relevant to our local and national child care personnel needs.

Sincerely yours,

Ilona Boyce MSW
