ATTENTION: The
Heartland organization has been in successful operation, for approximately
twelve years, as a premier community-based, child care service provider,
servicing Calgary and its surrounding region. We are an Alberta accredited,
not-for-profit organization We address the needs of families across our city for the
provision of preschool, kindergarten, and before-and-after school care
(BAS) to children ages six through twelve. Heartland Agency is
a well-established, highly respected, community-accessible service provider
of choice, for Calgary parents. We are currently seeking students and those interested
in entry level ECS positions to fill classroom
assistant work positions of school
van drivers, cooks,
and BAS child care, ECS teacher assistants
staff, within our educational site across Calgary. |

*NOTE: Involves driving specified routes between schools and our educational site. Bus driver is not responsible for child supervision. A separate designated 'van Rider' is on board and is responsible for the full supervision of children, and for route knowledge and navigation. |

REQUIREMENTS OF EDUCATIONAL ECS CLASSROOM ASSISTANT POSITION: |
||

ECS Educational Assistant job duties include and may not be limited to: responsibility for providing supports to the educators in the implementation of childrens programs, working closely with Teachers in creating stimulating and creative pre-school environments , assisting teachers in daily running of classroom, field trips, special events, if required, etc. Monitoring activity programs designed for young children, leading children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing craft materials, preparing and serving snacks. Arranging rooms and furniture for lunch and rest periods. Assisting with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. Assisting in maintaining classrooms, day-care equipment, and assisting in housekeeping duties. On occasion, being able to participate in the transportation of children to and from school and field trips. Performing any other assistive duties as may be required by the Agency in its daily child care operation. Engaging with children on a one on one basis and group work in a creative and imaginative manner, and able to be a team member and support for teachers and therapists. Competitive salary and benefits are available. Candidate must be willing to obtain a First Aide Certificate (full Employer cost) and ultimately a Class 4 driver’s license (partial Employer cost). | |
